Highland Mutual Fire Insurance Company (HMFIC) is a small, independent insurance company serving the Virginia counties of Highland and Bath. Our mission is to provide affordable insurance coverage for property owners in our rural setting. We are licensed to cover damage from fire and/or lightning ONLY, and cannot provide any other types of coverage.

HMFIC is governed by a local Board of Directors, which meets four times a year. These same directors serve as agents, visiting properties, meeting with owners, and writing policies. Director/agents work out of their homes and conduct HMFIC business in addition to their regular jobs.
